It was a surprising invitation from Fr. K.P.Jooseph, Founder, Administrator of St. Joseph's Matriculation school, Karanodai, in the Diocese of Chennai, to take over the school by our Province. The invitation was given to Sr. Pauline Joseph, Provincial Superior of Calicut Province. Sr. Romana Varkey and Sr. Perpetua Mary were asked to go over to Chennai and to remain in our community at Maduravoyal and to study the situation of the school by our daily presence in the school. Within two months of our presence there Fr. K.P. Joseph expressed his will to hand over the school to us. It was the time for the South East India Province to branch off. Our Province took its birth on 29.01.2004. And Sr. Selvy Singarayan took charge of the Province as its first Provincial Superior. After this Fr. K.P. Joseph handed over the school and its administration to our Province.

Sr. Perpetua Mary and Sr. Therese Soosairaj started their career as Principal and assistant in the school. The Sisters started to render their service in the school during the scholastic year 2004-2005. On 1st October 2005, St. Joseph Bhavan was blessed and inaugurated by Chennai Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Lawrance Pius. The school is well equipped with all the necessary equipments and facilities for the present day education. During the last year the SSLC students had produced 100% result. Every celebration in the school is aimed at giving moral and spiritual values, so that our education for formation of future citizens is arrived at.

St. Joseph's Bhavan belongs to the parish church of St. Mary Magdalene at Red Hills. The Sisters render their pastoral service in this church by teaching Catechism and preparing the children for the First Holy Communion. The spiritual needs are met by the Religious priests who are near to the Convent. Our apostolic works at present are education, pastoral work and pastoral care of vocation.
