An atmosphere of joy was experienced within us at the arrival of our dear Mother Anna Maria Vigano at the Provincial House, Mariagam on 21st January 2014. As a symbolic gesture of spreading the perfume of Christ, Mother stood with a sponge soaked with perfume at the altar and each sister went forward to have a share of it. The animation for the professed sisters was held the next day. On 23rd Mother conducted the Canonical visit to Mariagam community. The three sisters of Kodungal, the offshoot of Mariagam were also present. Mother also visited the substation where the sisters go on Sundays to animate the liturgy and visit families. On 24th we welcomed the three Assistants General Sr. Apoline Monis, Sr. Mary Kuriakose and Sr. Julia Mauri to Mariagam. Later they met the Bishop of Trichy Most Rev. Dr. Antony Devota and then proceeded to St. Antony’s Home for a friendly visit.

On 25th morning, we had the solemn Eucharistic celebration by our Bishop which was followed by Mother’s animation for superiors. We celebrated the 10th birthday of our province on the 26th. The grotto was inaugurated by Mother and blessed by Rev. Fr. Dharmaraj, Provincial Superior, MSFS. In the evening there was a cultural programme by the different communities of the province. 27th January was reserved for the General Council while the 28th marked the closing of the joint council meeting. The canonical visit having drawn to a successful close, we bid goodbye to our dear Mother and her Assistants as they left for Myanmar the next day.
