The special event of the II Provincial Consultative Assembly of the province commenced on the 27th July this year. These were days of abundant graces and blessings. The whole province had been preparing itself for this remarkable event with prayer, and reflection. Hence all the participants entered into this privileged moments thanking God and with openness to the Spirit. The well prepared opening prayer created an atmosphere of serene listening and discerning.
Our dear Mother General’s loving message ushered the whole assembly. Mother invited us to spend time with the crucified Lord and to listen to Him specially these days. The theme that led us through was “United as True Disciples in the Service of Charity”. We had been making a journey to become ‘Good Samaritan’s prompted by the invitation of the IV Provincial Chapter and the XXVI General Chapter.
The resource person Sr. Mariella Joseph from Calicut Province opened our hearts and minds with her input session on Discipleship, Communion in the community and apostolic service. The Report of the Provincial Superior gave the participants a clear exposure to the apostolic life of the Province and the challenges faced in carrying out our service.
God cannot be loved apart from His fellowmen, hence the importance of loving one another and being Servants of Charity. Today the world needs us to bear witness to the mercy and tenderness of God our Father. We have come to the realisation that the quality of our life in terms of our relationship with God and with one another in the community and in our apostolic work has to improve.
These three beautiful days were concluded with a thanksgiving prayer, leaving us charged with the Spirit of Christ, eager to carry His message of love to the world, starting with our own communities and our places of Service.
